Preparation

Make sure that the floor surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and totally free from oil, grease and polish.

  • Before work starts on concrete floors, the moisture content should be checked and if it's a new concrete floor, it should be left to mature for several months before painting.
  • Concrete surfaces should also be free of dust, grit, cement fines and laitance.
  • Very dense smooth concrete surfaces (such as power floated concrete) normally need to be acid etched before painting to allow for a decent adhesion.

Application

Always perform a test on a small inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility, and we recommend following the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.

  • Stir well before use. You can thin with 5% white spirit on the first coat to help application if necessary
  • Apply two coats of the floor paint and allow the first coat to dry overnight.
  • Recoat time, in normal conditions is 16-24 hours.
  • You can thin with 5% white spirit on the first coat to help application if necessary.
