  • Only use non-ferrous screws, nails, and fixings.
  • Resinous deposits should be removed
New timber
  • Newly laid timber flooring must be allowed to settle and adjust to the temperature for several days.
  • Remove any remaining residues on the surfaces to be decorated.
  • Machine-sand where applicable to make the surface smooth and remove irregularities.
  • Finish with a fine-grade abrasive paper and vacuum clean the surface thoroughly.
  • Degrease the exposed bare timber surface by wiping with a clean, lint free cloth, moistened with methylated spirits.
  • If the wood requires staining apply only one coat of Sadolin Classic, which is low build, and allow to dry for 3-5 days
Previously coated surfaces
  • Remove coating by using chemical strippers or sanding.

Application

We recommend always following the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin. Stir thoroughly, it is recommended that a small test area is applied before treating the entire surface to ensure compatibility.

  • Apply with a soft bristle brush or short pile roller.
  • When using a brush apply evenly and slowly to avoid the formation of air bubbles.
  • When using a roller spread outwards from the point where the finish has been deposited. Then spread across at right angles to give an even build.
  • Do not over-brush or roll.
  • Allow the first coat to dry for 3-4 hours and lightly sand in the direction of the grain using a fine grade paper, P240 or finer.
  • Remove dust and apply a second coat and third coat.
